I heard my first whippoorwill of the season this morning. To me that's a sure sign of spring.

I haven't heard one yet, but the old wive's tale goes that once you see a swallow, it won't freeze anymore for the season. Haven't seen a swallow yet either (OR a hummingbird, for that matter ~ but according to the migration map, they are ALL around me!).

Our Pomegranate tree has 8 buds waiting to pop open! Last year only one pom made it to the ready stage and it was delish I hope this year is better.
