Hi all,

I have this pair of swallows that just built a mud nest on my front porch. I would like to know what type of swallow it is. They are greyish black on top with light grey to white under sides and a splash of yellowy orange on their faces and below their wings. I unfortunately can't get a photo of them, they seem very wild. I did however manage to peek at them while building their nest, so I got a good look at them. Are they migration birds? Or are they indigenous to South Africa?

I believe you have described a South African cliff Swallow, Petrochelidon spilodera.
