Hi, I found what appeared to be a very large torn off limb from an Umbrella plant tree - took it home and decided to resurrect it. Put it in a bucket of water for a few hours - then cut off the bottom where it was torn off, and the other branches and put them all in a compost, soil container under a partly shaded tree. This is the day after. They don't seem to be perking up much - there are a few small plantlets that were in the process of growing on some of the branches - and they're still ok. I have rooting hormone but didn't use it - figured the plant was under enough stress without adding more with the added chemicals. Any thoughts on this what I could be doing more? Joy |

I have umberella plants, I don't know if they are the same thing nas an umberella tree. When I want to start a new one, i cut off a branch and turn it upside down with the umberella on bottom and put it in water. it will start roots and start growing little umbrellas, then you can plant it.
