It has been years and I'm still working on the Zen garden. All of the large trees, shrubs, and grasses(giant reed grass)are in.I have a few huge rocks and the garden over looks a 1/2 pond.I need ideas to decorate the garden...I want it to look like a true Japanese garden.I had some statues, etc. But they look wrong...Can you suggest something other than what I have.....It does need a bench and I was thinking of having a moongate made...I don't know,it's getting confusing. Posting pics so you can get an idea of the space....thanks,Sandy PS ,since this pic was taken the arbor with the "sweet autumn clematis" has fallen down and broken....So that would be where I would like to put the moon gate ...

Sun Berry I was visiting family in Rockford Ill. last summer and I visited a park that was 14 acres big "Anderson Japanese Garden". When I look at the pictures I took it reminded me so much of your project. The Garden was financed by a local business man and company and was designed by a Japanese firm in partnership with the corporation. My pictures didn't do it justice. If you ever visit Rockford don't miss this. It takes a few hours to see it all and it's amazing. The trees from the largest to the smallest all pruned with a oriental tone. A tea house, Koy ponds, wood carvings all just invite you in for a stroll. I know millions of dollars were put into this garden and you know what? Yours is every bit as beautiful. Take a drive to Rockford and you'll come home just full of new ideas. I bet they have a website and I'll see if I can find it. That will have pictures much better than mine.

The site isn't quite as photo heavy as I thought it might be but click on the photograpy icon and there is a nice slide show.
