About 8 years ago I purchased 2 kiwi vines from walmart ( M and F). Im not sure of the exact variety I have, but the fruit looks like those bought at the supermarket ( about egg sized, green inside, fuzzy brown outside). Im in New York, and the plants are thriving. Unfortunately, we are redoing our backyard, and they will have to go. I want to attempt to move them. I know it is un predictable and may result in killing both plants, but I have no other choice.
My questions are :
1) When is the best time of the year to do this ( Spring, Fall ) ??
2) How much of the vine should I cut back when doing this? I prune it every year, but im wondering if I should really downsize it prior to moving it ?
Any other advice would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
