My whole crop of cow peas look like they have runners coming out the top of the main plants. Are they climbers ? and what should I do now. They are full of blooms and look very healthy. Maybe I should Just leave them alone , but I.m afraid they will get into my corn rows and choke them out. Any one got a clue . Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I would give them something to climb on. There are several different options you have for doing that. What you do can depend on 1) what materials you have available 2) how much $$$ you have to spend 3) how labor intensive you want to get 4) how long do you want it to last The fastest for a one year type thing would be to pound in some steel fence posts about 6 feet apart and cover them with the green plastic snow fencing type fence. Tie it to the posts with wire or plastic zip ties. Then you can vine the beans up the fencing. |

Thanks, I have an old row of chicken wire and some old 1x2 stakes so I guess I'll get started this weekend... |
