I have a dwarf fugi apple tree that loves to produce hundreds of apples. The first year I planted it, it gave us 15 apples. It is only 8-10 years old.

The problem is that every growing season we have several branches just die off. This year is the worst and we only got 5 apples that ripened. Last year we had a record number but they mostly fell off the tree before the harvesting time. This year, I pulled off extra apples so that the remaining apples would grow large. There wasn't very many this year probably because we did a major trimming last year. but most of them, though large, just fell off in the green stage. We also are infested with worms in the apples and I do not want to use a harmful spray. Was thinking of using an orange oil spray after the leaves fall.

Can anyone help me? I fertilize and water every other day or if it is really hot, every day in growing season. It is shooting up offshoots from the roots all around the tree. Tell me my tree isn't dying!

Now for the Apricot tree. It is a full size tree, some years we get tons of flowers and no fruit, some years we get the flowers and baby cots that all fall off, this year we did not even get flowers but we did a major trim on it as well. Will this tree ever produce? We have plenty of bees because of our lavender plants but not another apricot tree that I can see in a nearby yards. There are plums in other yards that I have read can be used for cross pollinating cots. It also gets lots of water and fertilizer in the spring. Very hard to have my two favorite types of fruit trees in my yard and no yield. Do I have to cut this down and start over?

Any help will be appreciated. ~ Barbara
