I have a question regarding using compost as mulch on beds in the autumn and over winter.
Here is my question, I just put in some tulip bulbs.
Can I/Should I use my compost as mulch? I have a few bags left over from the summer. I was hoping to use it in spring/summer 2010.
Does it make sense to use good compost in winter? Any pro/cons I should be aware off.
I was planning the throw some coffee ground I picked up from the local Starbucks as well.
Thought/suggestions

If i have allot of compost i spread it over the garden in the fall as a mulch. In the spring i move the mulch around to plant.
