Do cuphea reseed? Or should I dig up some of the plants to overwinter (I'm in zone 9-maybe I don't have to do that?) Or do they just do one cycle? Never had them before and they did real well until the Hibiscus and zinnias took over their space.

I've never had one. I believe yardgranny had a few varieties of that plant. She would know for sure.

My neighbor and I have found that the Batface variety will reseed. The hybrid I had that was violet/purplish did reseed but did not come back the same. We had about 4 different varieties. I am curious to see if wome of them reseed.

The last picture is the mother plant by the name of cha cha cuphea.

WhenI purchased mine, it is like your first one, it was called "batface". I have looked it up, and in my area it is considered a perennial! Yay! It bloomed beautifully, until the hibiscus, plumbago and 3 ft. tall coleus took over its space. I'm going to dig some of it up and move it-and supposedly-it starts well from cuttings. We shall see!
