I grew a beautiful lemon grass plant this year - the first one I've ever persuaded to grow large enough to produce really thick, juicy stalks at the bottom. I'm thinking of going ahead and taking it out of the ground before frost kills it and trying to overwinter the roots/crown for next year. Anybody ever tried this with lemon grass? Tips on what temp is good for holding it, how much light or water it needs while dormant? |

Well, I cut down the grass today, put the nice stalks in the freezer (mmmmm, lemongrass pork), and popped the crown and a few pounds of dirt into a pot. Stuck it under a table in my room so it'll stay warm and I'll remember to water it. I'll let ya'll know how it holds up and if it comes back strong next spring. |
