Hello,
I am new to growing moonflower bushes. I got two of them from seed that I started this year. They are good size now but still in planters. Does anyone have any info on how and where to plant them. Do they require lots of sun, no sun? I really need to know since one of them will be going to my neighbor.
Thanks.

Do you mean Datura? Sometimes it is called Moonflower bush. I have Moonflower, but mine is a vine. Can you clarify?

This better be a moonflower bush since someone sent me the seeds for it. I also have the moonflower vine that will be flowering soon. I will try and post the picture to show you. Sorry that you got three of them.

It's a datura. They are pereinnals and you will have them everywhere once they bloom and seed. Mine weren't as tall as yours when I set them in the ground and I got blooms the first year.

Anywhere particular where I can plant them? Do they need full sun, partial sun? I want to make sure I plant them where they will grow good.

I would say they will grow most anywhere but sun with some shade will keep the plant from dring out in full sun. And if you don't cut off the blossoms as they fade, you will have that plant coming up all over the place.

After growing one a few years ago and enjoying its beautiful bloom I found out that about every seed that falls will make another plant. Not one I want in my gardens.

They open at night and are open all day, then they die. They smell heavenly at night-during the day...they STINK...in my opinion! However, the day smell is not as prominent as the night smell.

Here is a picture of our moonflower bushes from two years ago - they got afternoon sun. They re-seeded and came up this year, but didn't do as well.
