hi all
my neighbor gave me a dinky little scrap of a p.d. plant last year, and apparently it loves my south facing patio door...is almost 3 feet tall and has flowered. trouble is, it's 3 skinny stalks (though they're very leafy) and couldn't stand up so i put a tomato cage around it, lol. i'd like to cut it back to have a fuller plant, but would like to start the cuttings. i tried putting a small piece in water a few weeks back and it just withered away. any suggestions? she's my first polka dot.

I'm not very scientific here, but I had some once, growing in my flower bed, given to me by a friend. Not cold hardy at all-it died over winter, and we have mild winters-BUT-I treated mine similiar to coleus. Cut it back and it will branch out. Cuttings should start pretty easily -don't know about seed.

I rooted some easily in water last year, but after I potted them up, that's when I lost them. Go figure.
