I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. We planted a raspberry bush earlier this year and it's growing just fine, but recently I've noticed quite a bit of white, powdery stuff on the top and undersides of the leaves. Does anyone know what this is? Barb |

It's powdery mildew and it's a fungus. It won't kill the plant but it doesn't do it any favors either. You can spray with fungicide, but here's something I heard on a gardening show several years back. Mix one part whole milk (not 2%) with 9 parts water in a spray bottle and spray as needed. Hope this helps. I just planted blueberry bushes this year too, but no powdery stuff so far. I do get it on my zinnias and willow trees sometimes. |
