I planted , Lettuce two kinds(grand rapids & romaine),broccoli , cabbage, and some Roma tomato seeds, WOW! planted out side in a home made self watering tub on 8/05 came up on 8/8 I can't believe this! that's only 3 1/2 days ? they look healthy, the tomatoes took a day longer ,I planted some lemon cucumbers on the trellis arbor/raised bed (see picture)with Kentucky pole beans next to them, under the arbor on the inside (18"area)I planted mustard greens, on the outer side of the raised bed I'm going to plant four tomato plants. the other side of the arbor/raised bed #2 , I'm going to plant those broccoli seedlings coming up in the tub. the wire arbor on this side will have Ashley cucumbers planted under the wire and blue lake pole beans added also. the inside of raised bed # 2 will have the lettuce mixed. You must be further south zone 9 than me! Small tomato plants planted now, here, won't have enough time to make before a frost. I do, however, have one tomato plant that I cut way back, put in a pot, and I now have about 5-6 thumb-size tomatoes-and the plant is gorgeous (good-bye 95 degree days!). Hope to make quite a few before November. |
