I planted a whole pack of zinnias marked "Green Envy" Not a one came up-This is one blooming on the same stalk with those pink ones you see in the picture, too. Can't figure that out! Attachments: ![]() |

I saw this in your blog. It looks like a green rose that Hubby just had to have years ago. It rarely blooms, though. |

That is strange. CC, those brown spots on your zinnia......is that powdery mildew? That is what took mine over.

No, that's not powdery mildew (it gets-well-powdery) I think it's 'black spot' like roses get. Mine get this every year-it doesn't do them in-just makes them ugly. Now, the green bloom-I follwed it's stem to see where it came up and I swear-it is growing on the same stem as the pink ones! I just don't understand that! |

CC, maybe you should collect those seeds. It would be interesting to see what colors they would bloom next summer. |

I'm going to have to watch my one green bloom close! I noticed this morning that there are other blooms that show a tinge of green when they are opening, but they are pink in the center. When the flower fully opens-it is pink. I'm sure these seeds had to be crossed to get this color; these were Burpee, I think. It really irks me that none came up! I specifically planted the bulk of these seeds in one place, so I would know where the green ones were-maybe they all reverted to pink?
