Trees with Big Leaves

hi, i could use some help identifying these two trees with big leaves.

both of them were found in the suburbs of southern california.

#1 looks like a very young paulownia tree--the adults have large heart-shaped leaves (not nearly so big as the juveniles tho') and clusters of purple flowers in late spring/early summer.

#2 appears to be Castor Bean.

I agree with both those suggestions. Paulownia is an invasive tree that is a real pest in some areas of the country, especially the southeast. Not sure of it's invasive status in California, but I would not waste any space on that tree. There are so many great things you can grow in California, you don't need that pest.

By the way, it gets way too big for that space.
