Andrea, sent me three amaryllis bulbs a spring of last year. I potted them all 3 in the same large pot. They grew huge nice leaves, until I moved them inside for winter, where all the leaves turned yellow. I cut the nasty looking leaves off. They never bloomed. So this spring I started reading on them and found that they all needed a separate smaller pot, so I did that. They have been out side all summer in the sun, doing nothing. This morning Mary came inside and told me I had a plant out side with a huge bloom. She brought it inside for me to see and I could not believe my eyes. Please excuse the bad photo, but no matter how I try and brace myself, I still shake so bad it turns out blurrry. Thanks Andrea John Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great picture Bugnut!!! Congratulations on your new baby!!!! See what happens when you put a little time and effort into a plant, it repays you back with it's love!!!! I am so happy for you!!! I know definitely what you mean, I had the same thing happen Sunday, I am out watering my plants, and the next thing I look up at the bulbs I planted in spring that are for late summer/ early fall bloom and here on my tigridias is a bloom- a flower!!! But that was short lived, because we had hard rain and it messed the bloom up!!! But guess what today while I was going to pick up my daughter, I found another bloom on the same plant so I will be getting another one real soon!!! Congrats again bugnut!!! Tammy |
