It's that time of year again! Time to place orders for the winter bird feeding frenzy. Our local farm store always sends out special order forms to people who have signed up for the program.
This year:
50# B.O. sunflower ~ $14.99
40# Bird Favorite mix ~ $7.99
12 suet packs ~ $7.29
The most expensive item is the 50# bag of thistle for $44.99 but I am going to pass on that one. Still ..... the rest of the prices seem pretty good, no?

The cheapest I have seen this year was $13.99 for 50# when our new co-op had its grand opening sale. You can bet I stocked up on that. But I'm almost out now and $14.99 sure sounds better than the $26.99 it was up to for awhile last year.

Where do you guys buy your seed? 20 lbs. of BO sunflower seed here is 16.99. A feed store? That's Lowe's price.

Yes, Farm co-op store. Their regular price right now is $16.99 for a 50# bag of BO but I have to drive to the next town to go there. Orscheln's (a farm store chain close to my workplace) is at $19.99 off sale. That's the store that has the yearly bulk special and I ordered four bags at $14.99 ~ hopefully that will get me through the winter.
Wow ~ Lowe's is really high, like double the price I pay.

I buy my black oiled seeds at 2 local feed stores. The one keeps the prices as low as possible. The other one has a yearly sale.It works out to be about the same price. I use 50 # a month of black oiled and 50 # of seed mix.

I will be going out today to get the Wild Songbird Mix. It is advertised as 8.99 @ Feeders Supply for 50lbs. I never can find deals on the Bo seed.

I guess I'll have to try the feed & farm stores. There's one not far from where I work. We have a Tractor Supply, too-maybe there?

We get ours from the feed and seed store. It's cheaper there than anywhere else.
