These snap peas have really produced for me this year!!! I picked 25 pea pods today alone, didn't think there were any ready until my son went out there snooping in the garden, and he said I had some to pick, so went out there and yep he was right!!!! Will have more that will be ready to pick the end of this week to!!! I almost have a gallon container ziploc bag full of them now!!! Next year will proably go with just a four pack of peas instead of eight pea plants, don't know yet!!! Know I will definitely add more grn bean plants instead of two!!! Tammy |

Sounds like your peas are a winner.Peas are a cooler weather crop than green beans.Peas like cooler feet than beans. I start my peas in late march or early April and beans around the first of June. |

Hi wolfwalker, good day to you!!! I know these peas have been going strong, but they are starting to look like they are gonna die soon, starting to turn yellow, don't know if it is the rain or the cold weather that is doing it. But I think on my other forum said after they produce so much they start to die!!! But hey if ican get two or three more pickings I would be happy!!! Tammy |

Peas that i have raised max yield for a short period of time then slow down and die. If the peas are picked often they seem to make a bigger crop. Some pea variates produce long than others. |

Hi Wolfwalker, how are you doing today? I hope fine!!! I think this is what is happening to my peas, sometimes I have enough to pick one time a week, sometime I have enough to pick twice a week. But mostly I have been picking at least once a week. I think they are like the grn. beans the more you pick them, the more grows!!! But like you said I think they are definitely on the end of their life cycle, because, the pea pods are getting smaller, and the plants are really starting to turn yellow!!! I think it is also due to all the rain and cold we have been having!!! Tammy |

Yea, it's been a little chilly here, but we are nearing the end of our garden season here. I have been putting my cucumber plants, pepper plants, and the newest tomatos in my rv and non running vehichles to keep them out of te weather at night, because I want those new cukes to grow so I can pick them before end of season- give them a little more time to develop. Then my big tomato plants with tomatos on them, I am covering them up at night to, so they can finish developing. The pea plants I can't necessarily do that because they are poled down, but I have gotten alot out of them I can't complain!!! Tammy |

Thanks Witt, hoping to get a little more out of it before the weather sets in, because I have alot of stuff just now trying to ripen, like cucumbers and more peppers, plus my tomatos have just gotton alot of fruit on them now, so got to keep it going until, they get big enough I can harvest!!!
