rooting hibiscus

Has anyone rooted hibiscus before? My friend Lisa & I want to share with each other.Thanks.

I've tried several times to do it, and was successful only once. I cut a soft cutting (not hard wood, but the newer tip growth), about 4 inches long, used rooting hormone and planted in a light potting mix. Watered well, misted every couple of days, kept out of direct sun, water when dry. Cut most of the bottom leaves off, leaving only a couple on the tip. If it has a bud, cut the bud off.

I finally had success rooting rose of Sharon this spring, which is in the hibiscus family.

Rose of Sharon up like weeds in my yard. I could have sent you 50 seedlings! Mine are still blooming, but I see the seed pods growing.
