thanks in advance! i was given an 'abused' palm a year and a half ago and she's thrived...now has 3 'heads' on one stem...since last week, however, i have yellow leaves dropping off (especially on the head furthest from the base). too much or too little water? i never water it because it's in a huge pot and i covered the soil w/ polished stones and sat pots of smaller plants in with. i figure the palm's getting enough when i water the others and they drain. (2 wks ago, though, i gave it a good soak because i wanted to fertilize it) i'm planning on 'beheading it' (lol) and starting a new palm w/ the 'top head'...has anyone done this? i'd hate to kill it! i have root hormone to help it along, but don't know how much i should water when first transplanted. (palm's in a south facing patio door) |
