good thing the boyfriend's a cucumber 'vulture'! the poors things were given no room at all, and i can hardly keep up w/ picking 'em. they're all in teeny tiny window boxes (2 plants per) and i grew the damn things from a cuke we had w/ dinner one night! had bought cuke seeds but a vengeful squirrel kept digging around in the pot so grabbed the seeds from the cuke we had and, 'voila'! did wind up with one plant from the original seeds but have only had 3 off it. have had 30 from the other 6 plants in the last few weeks and they're still going like mad and still flowering. they're nice and juicy & seedy. delish! i didn't think you were supposed to be able to grow things this way...i tell my friends that from now on i'm buying all my seeds at the grocery store...lol. (also have 6 big red pepper plants loaded up and waiting to ripen - from when i made stuffed peppers in the winter...who knew?)
