Hi everyone, I just joined because I love to garden and am looking for advice on a project that I'm planning on starting soon. I live in SE Wisconsin with my hubby and baby girl. I'm not sure which board to post my project question--the short topic--I have a perennial bed (mostly peonies, iris, lilies of the valley) that has been invaded by little chipmunks or ground squirrels. First, I want to get rid of them and then, I want to fix the damage they have done, re-do the bed with a weed barrier and cover with stone. Okay, so where do I begin for advice? Thanks and looking forward to chatting with you! |

Check the critter thread for the chipmunks etc. then try the perennials and garden design. You will find your way around easily. Also you can blog about your garden and members will give you ideas from there as well. Welcome, Linda B from SC |

Hey from West Allis! Where are you located? can you give me a bit of a better idea for your plan? Get rid of the furrys.....do you have a cat? (indoor kitties can help with rodent control). If you can stand the smell, moth balls work...a few others also.... |

Welcome NuMom, You will love it here. The people are really great, full of good will and good advice. I came here looking for landscaping advice too and ended up making it my garden home. I had trouble with ground squirrels so you might check that thread under pests. |
