I planted a Blue Mist Spirea bush last fall and it was beautiful! This year it hasn't bloomed once it is green and lush and looks like little buds on the end but its August and I still haven't seen one bloom. I have fertilized it twice but still nothing. Any suggestions??? |

If you are talking about caryopteris (and I think that's right ) they don't bloom until August. Mine has JUST started blooming now. I love the color and it's one thing that blooms when a lot of other things have finished for the year.Welcome to GG! |

Ok thanks I am a new gardener I lived in cental Illinois all my life and moved to TN a few yrs ago. Wow what a change in soils from fertile to rock and clay. I feel better that those things that look like tiny buds probably are. |

I am going to try to post these pics. The site is slow this A.M. (Don't mind the naked lady with no arms in the first photo ~ I go to WAY too many yard sales ).Also want to say that the pics don't do the bloom color justice. And it's just starting to bloom so will be prettier later in the month. There is a variegated version too ~ I used to have one (green and yellow leaves) but it drowned in May ~ I am waiting to see if it comes back next spring

Way to go summer! I told you it would happen for ya. There's a sign in my garden that says "Patience" and sometimes you really need it !
