Just would like to say hello to everyone.

I reside in Metairie, Louisiana and I am looking for someone to help me design my new landscape project. I have a post under garden design discussion forum (Post Title: Help on Landscape and designing) with pictures of my house and existing garden. Anyone in Louisiana can help me with my new landscape and design would be grateful

Hi, Mike. I'm from southwest La.-near Lake Charles. I'll check out your post and see if I have any suggestions. This is a nice place to be-lots of knowledgeable people here-and a few nuts.

Hey, Mike. I'm glad you introduced yourself. Now everyone will know that you're here and help give you some ideas. Cat has a lovely yard, so she will be a wonderful resource even if she is one of the LA nuts.

Adding a couple of large curved flower beds will give a welcoming and more natural effect. You could begin by making several enlarged copies of your photo and just playing with ideas. Widen the beds, adding one or two sweeping curves rather than several smaller; bring the beds forward - with more space you can amend the soil and plant so larger specimens are staggered about as they would be in nature. Then add your larger plants and intersperse with clumps of smaller plants, using color and variety judiciously. Always look for a calming, welcoming design. A couple of smaller flowering trees offer lots of cheer but I'd stay away from fruit trees in a front lawn or anywhere near the sidewalk. Yeah, keep that wrought iron because if mama's not happy, ain't nobody happy - moonflowers and morning glories are like hand and glove; but if you do have children or pets stay away from poisonous plants (moonflower seeds are toxic). Thanks for sharing the photo and enjoy your new home!
