That dog has had porcupine quills 3 times now. Twice she had to be put to sleep to remove the hundreds from within her mouth. She now has an abcess on the under side of her neck. Antibiotics have shrunk it but it needs to be surgerically removed.Vet is assuming its from a quill. All I do is put money out for this dog. I wanted to have her spayed but haven't been able to with all these other surgeries. We have 3 dogs and this one we paid the most for, take to the vet more and now to doggie class. I should have kept that fish tank. |

I can't imagine living where there are porcupines! My little dog would look like a pincushion! We all have dangers for our animals where we live -but that's a bad hurt! |

Try looking into health insurance for pets - trupanion.com is one that only helps with emergency-type issues, not basic care, but it might keep costs down. I do not work for trupanion by the way, I am a veterinarian. |
