Aliza , If your new to gardening i would suggest you talk to your local hardware man or woman about some good mid priced tools. Don't over buy until you know what is needed.

Wolf is right. Talking to someone at a local hardware store is a great idea. ALso is there anyone in your neighborhood that gardens that you could talk to about what works good in your area. With tools you usually get what you pay for. Cheap tools rarely last. But for starting out you don't need top of the line tools either.
Hope this helps

I'm gonna go with the majority on this one, except....what I found better than my wheelbarrow (got flat tire issues) is my dump wagon. I bought it at Walmart for about 50 bucks. It has a 600 pound capacity, I can pull it, instead of the lift and pull and it dumps! Just my 2 cents worth....

4 years plus a few months. It's holding up great. I use it for EVERYTHING! Unloading stuff from the garden center, moving compost and top soil that's been delivered, plants, whatever. I've used it as a holding station for plants that are being dug up and moved, hauling yard debris to the compost pile. The fact that it can hold so much weight was what sold me. After my third plat tire on the wheelbarrow, I needed something easier.
