R-mama-When we were kids, my Mom would make fig ice cream in a large bowl and set in the freezer, it wasn't churned. I think she got the recipe off a junket ice cream mix box (do they still make that stuff?) She used raw, peeled figs. We loved it! Unfortunately, one of my brothers threw all of her recipe books away. She was a Home Economics teacher for a while, and she had LOTS of recipes. Regret that.

The Ball Blue Book has an interesting recipe for Fig Pickles and here is a recipe found on RecipeZaar:

High Energy "Survival" Bars

1 pound pitted dates
1 pound figs
1 pound raisins
1 cup cashew pieces
1 cup sesame seeds
1 cup peanut butter

Mix all ingredients except for peanut butter through a meat grinder.
Add peanut butter and mix well.
Roll out into 1/2 inch thick sheets.
Cut into bars and wrap well.

Makes 60 2 ounce bars.
