No special care for Cosmos and they reward you by reseeding for next year. I love them. |

this may sound crazy l had to transplant over sixty cosmo's from my wild flowers i have planted ,and still have thirty left to plant,i mean transplant,they are doing great,and getting flower buds on them,all over them,,,,thank for the info,,,i know they get really big like trees and are covered in flowers,but i didnt know they come up every year,,,,,,,,,,,glad to know that, |

Certain cosmos may or may not reseed in your zone. When I was in Z5a in WI, I could not get orange cosmos to reseed for me at all ~ here in Z6b, they do. You may want to collect dried seed heads in the fall just in case. ETA ~ VERY nice pictures, btw

tyvvm for the welcome,,, and thank you ladiess for the info, when i lived in warren,,i planted cosmo's every year,they were beautiful but just never re seeded themselve,,, i think i put the wrong zone in lol,,its zone 3 here, i live out in the country ,in the upper northern part of mich,in big rapids in the wooded area where i live,its all sand to plant things in,i mean my flower beds are all sand,and i dont have any problems at all growing things my flower beds,,,,,,,,i get seeds from my zinnia s every year,save bucks for your pocket lol, i was also wondering if babies breath also come up every year,this is my first time planting them from a mixture of wild flowers i planted back in may,every thing from seed that i have planted is comming up really good,especially my babies breath,,,,,,,,,,, Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

also i planted my petunia's in sand,and seem to have no problems so far,this is how they turned out lol.............can you believe nothing but sand,,,,

That is amazing that you are getting such great results from just sand! Your flowers are beautiful. I really love the white babies breath with the blue flowers. Are they batchelor's buttons? |

tyvm,,,,,,,yes its just plain ole sand lol,i didnt think anything would grow in sand except cactus lol,,,,,,,,but here in this area is nothing but sand,,,and i was amazed my self,when i saw how everything was comming up the way it did,,,,all is doing good, i had to look at the package again ,it didnt say anything about bachler buttons,sorry think i spelled it wrong, the mixture i planted,the name is :ENCAP,,WILDFLOWER BOUQUET THE FLOWERS ARE: BABIES BREATH,COLENDULA,FANCY MIX,CORNFLOWER,COSMO'S SENSATION,ROCKET LARKSPUR,GLORIOSA DAISY,ZINNIA,POPPY,SHASTA DAISY,GODELIO,PLAINS COREOPSIS i got the first cosmo flower this morning,i went out to look at them and the first one had opened up,very pretty Attachments: ![]() |
