I bought a bag of peat and it says for OUTDOOR USE ONLY. Is there a reason not to use it in indoor potting mixes? Is it a health reason? |

As far as I know, there are no nutrients in peat moss, so it is used to amend poor soil, which helps the soil retain moisture. If someone used just plain peat moss to pot up their houseplants, they probably wouldn't do well; therefore, the manufacturer puts a warning on the label so that people know to mix it into the garden soil only as an amendment. I hope this helps. |
