Mine seems to be doing well in the ground-however-we haven't had the wet winter months yet. It is planted in a very sandy area, but it does/will get lots of water in the winter-heck-it's getting lots of water today! Here's a pic I took a day or so ago, and it has a fresh bloom!

Ro, that close up of the Pink Blush is amazing!

Cat, that is gorgeous. What is that plant over to the right?

Thanks, Mary! I know what you mean. I want to add ALL of Kelly Griffin's hybrids to my collection!

Ooo, that looks very nice, Carolyn! Especially with the Aptenia cordifolia (Red Apple) as its backdrop.! A few years back I sent 20# of that to someone in TX. I think they planned to make hanging baskets of it to sell.

What are the white flowers(?) on the left side of the pic (on the welcome rock)? It seems you've prepared the soil well. Hope you're not too swamped with the wet stuff!

Thanks, Witt! I tend to take a lot of macro pix...so I can see the DNA!

Rose, I think I cut 20 lbs off that plant every time I trim it! I gave it away by the handfuls when I had a garage sale. White flowers? There are some that are part of that garden statue that broke-and the ones laying on the lava are some that fell off a vinca that is more to the left.

Cat, your ice plant doesn't look a thing like mine. Is yours hardy? It is unusual. I wouldn't mind having something that can handle scorching heat but survive the winter as well.

There are many types and colors of ice plant..most are not hardy but there are some that are more hardy then others.

Witt, I like yours, too! Want to swap some? Mine is hardy here-we rarely have freezing weather for more than 2 days in a row-and then it doesn't get much below freezing. It should overwinter in the house ok-I'll send you some! I have lots!!

That would be great.
Maybe Ro can tell us exactly what kind of ice plant it is.
The kind I have goes through the winter fine. It gets a little sad, but as soon as it warms up, it flushes out green again.
