I believe it's time to replant my gardenia in a larger pot, but I wasn't sure if doing that in the summer is a bad idea? I know that planting anything in our AZ heat isn't a smart thing to do and can sometimes kill the plant. Do the rules still apply for container plants? Also, when planting something in a pot, should I always keep it in a container suitable to it's size, or can I put it in the larger container that I plan to grow it in when it's larger? Thanks |

I don't know what works where you live, but where I am-you can re-pot a container plant at any time. Go 1-2 inches larger in pot size (especially for a shrub), add a good dose of time release fertilizer, water well (and water often, especially if you re-pot in the summer), and GO! |

Sorry I'm getting back so late, crazy week trying to keep my plants alive, everything is sunburned and it's supposed to be 115 today, yeah... Thanks for the advice, I'll go ahead and try it. |
