85 percent seeds, 5 percent catalog, 10% garden center. I always need some fillers.

Except for onions and a few extra tomatoes, I start all my veggies from seed directly in the garden. I start onions from sets and I started MOST of my tomatoes from seed this year. I bought a 4-pack each of romas and early girl, but they're way behind those I started from seed in terms of size.

This is the first year I've started flowering plants from seed and I'm pleased to say they seem to be doing well in my new cutting bed.

I've given up on peppers, biyu, except for jalapenos. I get lots of foliage but very little fruit. I've been told not to fertilize them.

99.9% from seeds. The only veggie I started this season from plants were three pepper plants. All of my veggies and flowers are from seeds. I have several gardens full of flowers, including zinnia, coreopsis, sunflowers, marigolds, morning glory, etc, etc all from seeds. I think it's the only way to go. Oh, I should clarify my azaleas, roses, crepe myrtle and trees are obviously from plants, mostly Master Gardener's sales.

I use a bit of everything, however the mood strikes. I guess I would have to say that 80 percent of my plants come from local nurseries.

We plant seeds and plants. As long as the soil has warmed up and rain is abundant, anything will grow well.
