Last year my hyssop was glorious. This year there are 3 or 4 stalks and maybe one bloom. I read they are short lived. What can I do? How to propogate? I have looked at local nurseries but none is available. Are they easy to start from seed? Can they be rooted? Witt, HELP!! |

I hope that you have it in a sunny place that has good drainage. To keep it from getting leggy, you need to prune it. Use the prunings for propagation! It might be too late to get the cuttings to strike, though, but you can try. Usually they are rooted in early spring or autumn, but that doesn't always hold true. It does need to be pruned to make it bunch up, however. It is easy to propagate from seeds if you have them or even division, too. I hope this helps. |

Yes maam it sure does help. I will try rooting it today. It lives in a very sunny, well drained area. I have seen seeds for sale on line, but didnt know if it was worth buying them--you know some things are almost impossible to start. But if you say it is easy, then I will try some from seed in the spring. Thanks herb lady!!
