what critter digs but doesn't eat??

It appears that nothing was eaten though! i think my neighbor has the same visitor only in her garden you can see a trail about 1 inch wide that looked like a tail or trail to each dug up area. What is it??? how can I keep it away before it decides to taste something??? I live in Maine and it has been raining for days if that helps Quote \| Reply \| Report
