I came into a bag of these today but was not told what they are. I've seen them before but never knew what they were. Can anyone help me and identify them for me?

Definitely Garlic or Onion scapes. It's the flower stalk.

Garlic scapes, yepper. I took mine off a few weeks ago. I used some in pasta, and battered and deep-fried some. Mmmmmmm, garlic scapes are one of those things you only get once a year, and I look forward to them.

If you grow garlic you have to take the flowers off before they open and make seeds - that keeps the energy going into the bulb, where you want it.
