Well dug potatoes today, the red potatoes were huge but those D#$#@$#$ grub worms eat their fair share, the white (tougher skin)potatoes had little damage, so I will plant white from now own. after the barrel experience(see pictures) the ground planted potatoes truly out performed the barrel ones, I covered them two times during the growing season. the potatoes were small seed potatoes in white bags from Wall-mart approx, 2-4 lbs ? they made potatoes like crazy, I planted six rows and finished about six foot with, the kitchen grocery store ones from pantry with sprouts they grew as good as the seed ones with an exception of the skin, it was thicker so they may have been a variety for shipping (thick & tough skinned), here are some of the pictures, from barrel to wheelbarrow, Guilt Trip Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

oh yea! Jake(twin # 1 age 6) said "I only want mashed potatoes made from those red potatoes, their the best in the world". I don't know about the world but they are as smooth as any I have ever eaten. here's a picture of the final wheel barrow of taters. Guilt Trip Attachments: ![]() |
