The fish and frogs are fun to watch as well as doing their work. I am so glad you are enjoying your pond.

We Love the Pond, Jake said "the frogs were nice", Maggie said "yuck" but both agreed it's getting time for a pond. Guilt Trip and the Twins

This is what I was able to accomplish over the weekend. When my son-in-law built my pond he didn't make the plant shelves wide enough for the pots, and they were slanted inward toward the water, making it very difficult to keep the potted plants from falling in the water. As you can see I had to remove all the rocks and roll the liner inwards and dig the shelves wider and flatten the bottom. Now I can sit my larger pots on the shelf. You can see what the left side looks like, so it will be next to do the same thing to. I am going to get a larger pump and a larger filter. Really there is no slimy algae, the dirty water is from all the plants that dumped their dirt in the pond. I am in the process of filtering most of it out, you can see the bag of quilting batting on top of the falls and see how much I have filtered out already. My water still tests fine, and my fish are healthy. I will keep posting pictures until I am finished.

Mary and I have been slowly working on the pond. We now have a 12 inch shelf, and it is flat on the bottom. I should have cleaned up our mess before I took this pic. But I have plenty of time to do that later. The pond is quite a bit larger now.

Carolyn, it is 8ft wide and 11 ft long, and 3feet deep. I can now see my fish swimming around the bottom. They are growing much faster than I thought they would. The small Wal-Mart fish that were 1 inch long are now about 3 inches long. All they want to do is eat. Mary put all the rocks around the edges, and I thought she done a pretty good job. She was so sore this morning, she could hardly move, but she was very proud of her accomplishment. I am going to stuff Spagnum moss in the holes and cracks in the water fall and plant some ivies.

Wow, you know, John, it just didnt look that big! Bravo for you to be able to work on it as long as you did-and Mary, too! I keep carrying stuff around that is too heavy for me, too, and don't know it until tomorrow! I HATE this getting old stuff!

That looks great. Looks like it's easy to do, but quite sure it was hard work.
