We went camping at Back Bone State Park last weekend and it was fabulous. Back Bone is the very first state park in Iowa. It is over by the Mississippi in north east Iowa. It is named Back Bone because the limestone towers and spires are said to look like the Devils Back Bone. Here are a few pictures I took. The trout stream is crystal clear. There is also a cave to explore, a lake stocked with crappie, blue gill and bass, the very first Geo cacheing spot in Iowa and lots of beautiful hiking trails. We heard and/or saw lots of wildlife too. Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Talk about breath-taking. Well you captured it. Makes me want to go fishing again and take a hike in our caves now. Just beautiful Mamabear. |
