Just got my first ever Borage plant today!! Ok, the leaves are prickly but the little flowers are so pretty. Anyone got any borage tips/comments for me??

If you know me at all, you know that I don't like "prickly," so I never bothered with borage. The flowers are pretty, though. You'll have to put in a picture. |

I've always wanted to plant borage because it's supposed to make your tomatoes taste better if you plant it next to them. I've never seen a picture, though. |

Well, my borage died completely. They are pretty plants with blue blossoms. I will try from seed next year. |

last year i added borage fer the flowers both it and tomatoes in general area got aphids--speaking i havent seen any lately-- soo im not adding borage agin unless its in a contained greenhouse |

I think you can make a tea out of the leaves.........not sure though. |

lets cheak iplant LOL it mentions lemonaide but not tea --leaves added to lemonaide prickly backs taken off or the like before added to sammiches so id assume same with lemonaide oh medicinal uses mentions teas but that sais only oil from seeds then that the flowers help the arenal gland warning use leaves in moderation due to possable liver toxicity from pyrrolizidine alkaloids untill more research has been conducted the alkaloid dosent occur in the oil of the seed --- and that makes the app worth what i paid fer it! |
