Can someone tell please me what the name of this plant?

My husband who does lawn work saw this plant and had me come over where he was working and take a picture. He would like to have this plant but I do not know what to ask for at a garden store. We live in Florida but I do not know if it is a native plant. Thank you for all help...Liz

What a beautiful flower. It certainly looks like an Allium, just not certain which one.~Andrea

The genus (allium) has 1250 species according to wikipedia! Didn't know there are so many different kinds. Yours is beautiful.

I was going to say Scadoxus multiflorus...I don't know if Haemanthus is the current name or not.

Scadoxus multiflorus (Haemanthus multiflorus)
Bulbs are slightly poisonous (Salivation, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea).

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will also tell the owner of the plant because she did not know what she had either. I will and now try and find one for myself here in Florida. Thanks so much..Liz
