The little wheelbarrow I got at a yard sale, the boots were my daddy's, and the planter, my dad made from an old grill. I couldn't get rid of it when he passed away, so I took it to my house where my beans are growing quite nicely in! Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi...I was drawn to your topic and loved what you did with the wheel barrow and especially your dads boots! I know what you mean because my dad passed in '93 and there were certain things I couldn't let go of either and have incorporated into my yard also! I feel like he's there with me... Anyway, if you dont mind, I'd respect any you may have because it looks like we have the same taste (old neat stuff) I have this old frame I've been packing around (seems like forever)and I need some ideas or inspiration in what to do with it ??? It's old, paint obviously chipping off, the glass & panes were gone when I found it so it's just a big open glassless, paneless, square wood thing! LOL lol ANY IDEAS??? I'd sure love some....I've drawn a blank - maybe because I have so many other projects going on but in reality, I've been luggin it around for about 3 years so obviously I'm not coming up with an idea that's jumped out at me yet!!! lol I was going to attach string for a trellis and plant some sweet peas or something....??? HELP! Hey, thanks for any ideas !!! HAPPY YARDENING

Granny, a trellis is a good idea. |

You could add a few hooks to it and mount it to hang a few garden tools from. Or if you can find a way to hang it like a frame so when you look that way it's like a picture. You could even use plexiglass and cut a piece to fit it and use it for a picture frame. Plexiglass is easy to cut with a simple plastic tool. If it's sturdy enough attach a couple pretty handles on the top and mount a board, possibly decoupaged, on the bottom to use for a tray. |

How about a couple of hooks to hang a mirror! I picked one up at the local store that had a white plastic frame (to paint or not as you please). I then found a white plastic picture frame (decorative) and stuck it to the middle of my mirror. I have an old metal kitchen chair (rusty, of course)that is missing the seat. I put wire mesh in the seat area to hold moss and potting soil and plant various kinds of plants when needed. I placed the mirror against the chair back. It reflects the light and the plants. The chair sits in my lightly shaded flowerbed and gets plenty of water from my irrigation system (mesh holding soil makes it dry out quickly). Rusty chair fits my "cottage" themed tastes! Anyway, just a thought about the mirror! Good luck! |

That's a neat idea. The water would drain through it and probably wouldn't rot the rest of the wood either. Have you had any trouble with the mirror getting wet and discoloring? Not that wouldn't do anything but add to the ambiance. |

I took an old window and attached a shelf to the bottom of it and put some things on the shelf. It is hanging in my bathroom. I will try and post a pic of it. |
