If you are just getting started enjoying the benefits of a juice extractor, do it slowly with some veggies until your body gets use to that much pure nutrition. Celery, fennel and cucumbers are the easiest to digest as a starter, then move on to the different types of lettuce (red leaf, green leaf, Romaine, Endive, Escarole, and spinach). Once adjusted to those you can try cabbages and Bok Choy. Carrots are sweet and are a good base for many drinks, as the previous poster showed.

Keep a notebook and make notes of the benefits of all the different veggies and fruits.

I have been juicing carrots for while now and i put a barley/alfalfa powder in it for vitamins.

I love to make fresh orange juice in the mornings too.
Thanks for the website.

Hi RR, just noticed this post. I have a great book that is called Juicing for Life and it's written by Cherie Calbom & Maureen Keane. It has many many recipes in it and tell's you what the best juices are for different ailments. Any thing specific you are looking for? I love carrot juice. I do 5 or 6 carrots with a handful of parsley, 1/2 golden delicious apple and a 1/2" piece of ginger. It is good for sinus problems and just plane tastes good. But I'll throw in any veggie I have on hand. The Juiceman recommends the only fruit you mix with veggies is apple, I've heard others say differently. Hope this helps. CG

I heard there are many benifits from blueberries. I heard they boost your immune system and good for your brain too. Sorry to hear about your stroke RR. We eat them by the handfuls here. I always have frozen ones onhand. We are almost out, but blueberry season will be here soon. I usually put up atleast 18 pounds for hte winter. Not including how many we have hin our fridge. I am told carrot juice is excellent for the immune system. My friend makes her family drink it everyday.

Hi Bob, I rinse my berries before I freeze, even though I eat them by the handfuls while I pick. I dump them in the sink full of water, pick out the leaves and stems, drain in a colander, and fill my bags. Freeze. Very simple, very tasty. Hubby uses them in pancakes every weekend. I put them in ice cream, muffins, cereal, eat frozen, etc. Good Luck.
