On the bright side, the mint is helping keep the bugs away.

Hahahaha! Me, too, but the good thing is, that the roots are only on the surface. They don't go deeply, so it's real easy to pull up. I'm pulling mine all the time and it's still there, but I keep it under control simply by pulling it out. One thing, though, I sure don't feed it to my chickens. Who in the world would want a mint-tasting egg?!

Well that is great to know that it is just an old wives tale. Had me worried for a minute or two. I took an hour and a pair of pruning shears to my mint and now my thyme is coming back and the mint is under control for now. I think I will attempt the dig up and pot planting this weekend. I will let you all know how it goes. Thanks for the info.

Our family duck loves the mint, thyme and sage. I keep thinking that when he finally becomes dinner (like that would ever happen LOL) he would already be seasoned. Never thought about the eggs. LOL

Yep! I learned really quickly when we first got chickens to watch what treats I gave them. I have loads of strong aromatics that don't render tasty eggs.

I love it, too, but keep it corralled. It will grow like crazy! I am forever yanking it out.
