When and how can I take a cutting from my climbing rose?

Does anyone know when I can take a cutting from this as it's just started to bloom some lovely roses. Also, how do I take a cutting? Do I take a small cutting and leave on leaves and do I use a root powder or root gel and do I need special compost??? All help and information gratefully appreciated.
