Hi, I'm brand new and kinda confused on how to post to a topic so please bear with me. It said introduce yourself I think. So, I'm female, retired, have done a little gardening but not too successfully in the dirt we have here. I finally bought some bags of topsoil and put it in containers. I got lucky and found a source for plastic barrels, so I'm in gardener's heaven. I cut the barrels in half so I got two 18" deep containers from each one. I met a lady in (ugh!)WalMart who told me how to make a compost tumbler. I made four of them! Havin' fun. Now my next problem is this. The seeds germinated and were growing well, but the wild peacocks ate everything to the ground. I decided to use my dog's 10x10 kennel to fence in the containers and cover the top so the birds can't get to them. My long winded question is will shade cloth be strong enough and will it block out too much sun? All advice appreciated. Thanks. |

Welcome, planter. We're happy to have you join us! Now that I think about it, I think that this is the first "peacock" question that I've seen since I've been here! Maybe you folks in Florida will be better able to answer this question. I know that they are big birds--not like my little chickens! Scroll around and click away. You should see categories for almost anything that you might be interested in. Just follow the cues. Have fun! |

Hi Witt. I hope I'm doing this right. I spent over an hour scrolling through posts looking for some ideas regarding the peacocks before I posted that question. Fortunately there are only two and they are both males, so no worry about more of the danged things pooing all over the place. They are beautiful, but can be a real pain. Thanks for replying. I'll keep watching for an answer from someone. |
