I'm taking on a project this summer, my boyfriend & I are going to try to build a trellise for my roses! I can't wait, for years I've loved & admired others trellises... and it's finally time for me to have my own! I'm sure it's going to be a lot harder then I expect, but I'll get it done one way or another. Does anyone have advice or tips for my venture? Do I physically weed my roses through the trellise to get it started?... or do I just let it climb it itself? I have always been curious about that, but I guess I can wait til I actually build the trellise, huh? Lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

To attach the rose I would use old pantyhose cut into 1 inch loops and use them to tie the main stems to your trellis. As for the trellis, is there a special look you are going for? Will it be wood, plastic, iron??? Will it be next to a wall or free standing? Will it go into the ground or sit on top? |
