Hi, Hope you do not mind that i am butting in...I just joined...you were asking about dandelion...My grandmother use to take the greens and cook them.. tastes like spinach.. |

I have used the young leaves in salads and soups. I was hoping for some info on the roots of dandelion, I know they can be used too but Im not sure how. I have had wine made from the flowers, kinda yucky I thought. |

ok iplant ipod touch app sais this bout roots roots can be cleaned and cooked like carrots or pickled roasted roots are made into a coffee substitute additionally bout plant leaves are eaten in the spring before flowering eighter raw or cooked flowers may be added to muffins or battered and stif fryied dandelion winemade from the flowers is a delight so is dandelion beer medicinal properties antifungal cholagogue diuretic expectorant galactagogue hypotensive laxative lithotriptic liver tonic thats a few yea no i DONT know what most are an basil i think has more |
