I found all these green-red-brown leaves growing on my lawn. They look almost like from the maple tree. Roots are pretty easy to pull out. They spread like crazy in the back yard. I have looked through all the common weed pictures online. However I could not find any ones like these Can any body tell me what they are?? How to get rid of them? I spent hours to pull them out. Will they come back??? Help please. Regards, Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have no idea the term used but I get them every year also. Its where the tree blows off there seeds Oh I know Im not saying it right but that is what I do, just pull them out of the ground. Its not big deal and from my experience they dont come back. Surely someone will come in to tell you what it is called exactly. Dont worry tho, you have alot of them, it will only take some time to tug em on out.

Those are not weeds. They are tree seedlings. You can see the seed pod leaves right below the first set of true leaves. I'll bet if you look around your area you'll find the tree with those shaped leaves. We have a maple tree at our rental house and we have to make sure we clean the gutters out after the seeds come down or we have hundreds of little trees growing in the gutters. My husband cleaning out the whirly gigs as we call them, from the gutters. You can see the culprit tree in the background. Attachments: ![]() |
