Can someone answer me this...are you supposed to cut back climbing roses before the new season? I'm in a 5 zone I believe (if that matters) right now some of the stems are about 7 ft. It has all the old dead leaves on it still too. I want to do right by this thing as it is my first go at roses. Thank you |

Climbers bloom on old wood. right now you want to prune out any dead or damaged canes. Leave all other pruning until after the first (or only) first flush of flowers. Keep deadheading also this may increase the second flush. hope this helps. Sass |
